Indiba

or Local Hyperthermia

Indiba provides deep heat to the affected area by transforming electrical energy to heat energy. An insulated metallic electrode transfers electrical energy resulting in heat when the cells of the tissue act as electrical resisters. The Indiba provides a kind of local fever to the deeper areas. This fever increases circulation, lymphatic activity along with other positive affects listed below.

Procedure:

A metal plate will be placed directly on the skin opposite the affected area. The therapist will then apply a generous amount of conductive ultrasound gel to enable the electrode to be easily moved. The electrode will then be placed over the affected area and slowly moved in circular motions. Two different electrodes may be used depending on the case.

The gel will be gently wiped off at the end.

Indications:

  • Fibrous capsules

  • Acne

  • Asthma

  • Prostatic enlargement

  • Joint pain (sprain)

  • Tendonitis

  • Stiff neck

  • Pain

  • Facial paralysis

  • General problems of the spine

Effects of the procedure:

  • Increase in blood and lymph circulation

  • Increase of oxygen pressure

  • Decrease in carbonic acid production and decrease in tissue acidity

  • Increase in internal temperature

  • Revitalization on a cellular level

  • Increased activity of the immune system locally

Contraindications:

Although the contraindications for the application of the hyperthermia equipment should be explained by the corresponding practitioner, there are a series of circumstances where precautions must be fully respected.

  • Electric and electronic implants, internal or externally connected to batteries or radio control e.g.:

    • pacemakers,

    • neuro-stimulators,

    • drug dosifiers,

    • cochlear implants and

    • external monitors.

  • Internal hemorrhage processes in acute phase.

  • During pregnancy on the torso.

  • Patients undergoing de-clotting treatment.

  • In the first post-operative 48 hours in some pathologies
